Lemon is an acid
Despite that lemon juice is an acid and goes into your body as an acid, it helps to make your body alkaline. How do lemons do this? Once you squeeze the acid liquid out of a lemon, and drink it with water, it is digested and gets into your blood stream. It passes through the veins and into the liquid near your cells. Lemon nutrient then enter your cells. Your cell uses up the lemon acid nutrients and creates a residue. This residue is a basic substance that is excreted from your cells and populates your lymph liquid as a basic solution or basic element. It is this basic element that combines with acids to neutralize them and in doing so makes your body more alkaline.
Lemon juice in your body
Here is what lemon juice can do in your body. It can help your body flush out toxins, metabolic wastes, and acids. In doing this, it is moving your acid body to a more alkaline body. Now this won’t happen over night, but will happen in 1 – 3 months. It takes at least this long for you to buildup your alkaline reserves by using lemons. During the first month, this juice is being used up to get rid of excess acid it finds. As this excess acid becomes less, some of the basic residue is stored in the cells and organs as a reserve for emergencies. As more time passes, more acid is neutralized and more goes into reserves. Of course if you are eating food that creates a lot of acid in your body, you will never catch up in the neutralization process, but at least your body is not becoming highly acidified.
